Beginning around 1980 and accelerating very fast over the next decade, golf became the new public sport in Denmark. All generations and all social classes took golf to their hearts, and new golf courses were constructed in all regions of Denmark.
In 1993 the company Golf Copenhagen was founded with a passion for golf. We could see a new market evolving in front of our eyes on the fairways, and we decided to utilize our skills and our knowledge of shoes to design a remarkable line of golf shoes which soon caught the attention of golf players all over Denmark. The quality of the leather, the superior fit and durability made them stand out from all other golf shoes at the time, and the classical design with a little twist soon made them well known and loved in Denmark.
For a few years Golf Copenhagen shoes were marketed solely in Denmark, but the interest shown by visiting golfers from all over the world made it apparent that our market should be worldwide rather than domestic.
Over the years we have developed several extraordinary lines of golf shoes, golf bags and accessories, and we have established a range of distributors and agents in Europe, the Far East and USA, with more to be added as the company continues to grow and - with the familiar focus on quality and design - adds new products to our range.
Golf Copenhagen was founded in Esbjerg, Denmark, and the headquarters remain located there due to the excellent airport and seaport facilities.
